My favorite dogs (walks and a hotel)
Maui
Maui is a blue-eyed husky that I really like because of his character. On walks he sniffs a lot and generally “follows his nose”. Yes, I know… the sense of smell is important for all dogs, but there are individuals who are outstanding in this respect – and Maui is certainly one of them. He is also very intelligent and communicates well with the guide. We quickly developed a change of direction of movement by having the guide point to him.
On walks we mainly trained how to deal with emotions when other dogs appeared nearby (this is probably Maui’s only serious problem). During these few walks together Maui learned to nicely communicate that he wants to leave when he sees a dog that is uncomfortable for him. A very nice little success 🙂
Lucek
Lucek is a very smart and cheerful guy! He loves walks so much that he literally jumps into the harness. You just have to show it to him and in a moment Lucek has it on!
I took care of Lucek after the kneecap surgery, so according to the doctor’s recommendation I had to avoid stairs and situations where Lucek could jump.
Lucek’s problem, which I decided to “tackle” is very strong pulling on the leash. Lucek turned out to be a quick learner and on the second walk we were going quite comfortably, and on the third one it was completely relaxed. Well done Lucek!
Ziomek
Ziomek is a really cool guy. He’s got his years and his routine. But thanks to that, I can simply trust him on a walk and let him lead me. Ziomek adjusts the routes to the time he wants to spend outside with clockwork precision. So we make a perfect circle in the time he has planned.
So every walk is mega relaxation and complete ease. As it is with Ziomek 🙂
Florka
I have probably known Florka the longest of all the walking dogs. She is a very grateful companion on both shorter and longer trips. She loves walks in meadows and in the forest.
She is great to walk without a leash, because she watches the guide (and the ‘tractive’ on additionally increases the comfort of walking).
During walks in the housing estate, she sometimes has a problem with some dogs – so this aspect is the main challenge for her, which the guide must cope with.
